World's Series Game 1
Victory for Taylor and Buffalo
|
The World's Series got off to
a quiet start today, with the host Buffalo
Colts taking a low-scoring 1-0 win over the Cincinnati
Excellents. Buffalo left-hander Eli
Taylor was marvelous at Riverside Park and was
named player of the game. The Colts now hold a 1-0
lead in the best-of-9 series.
Taylor earned the win, going 9 strong innings for
Buffalo. The left-hander allowed just 3 hits, while
striking out 8. Cincinnati hitters had little
success against him.
Taylor attributed the win to "energy and focus on
the part of everyone."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at
Riverside Park in Buffalo. The scheduled starters
for the game are Isiah
Camp for the Cincinnati Excellents and Hugh
West for the the Buffalo Colts.
