Almost There: New York On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 14-3 Win
Riding the 3-hit performance of center fielder Jonathan Carter, the New York Knickerbockers got a road win against the Cincinnati Clothiers, 14-3, in Game 4 of the World's Championship Series today. Carter went 3 for 6 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 5 for the Knickerbockers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.

Arnold Church aided the New York cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop went 2-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Clothiers manager did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the World's Championship Series."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Karl Harper for New York and Gustav Allred for Cincinnati.
