Flint Handcuffs Industrials, Knickerbockers Seize 2-1 Advantage in World Series
With right-hander Phineas Flint leading the charge, the New York Knickerbockers got past the Pittsburgh Industrials, 6-5, in extra innings in Game 3 of the World's Series today. Flint threw 10 innings of 9-hit ball at Dormont Park as New York managed to take to a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Flint, a native of Newark, New Jersey, was dealing all game. He kept Pittsburgh hitters off-balance, while giving the Knickerbockers 10 quality innings. Flint threw 149 pitches, allowing 9 hits and striking out 5.

"Every team in baseball loses," Industrials manager said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Pittsburgh. Slated to start are Nick Putnam for New York and Calvin Anton for Pittsburgh.
