It's Over! Pittsburgh
Defeats New York |
The Pittsburgh
Industrials ignited a huge celebration as they
beat the New
York Knickerbockers 3-1 to win the World's
Series.
Pittsburgh won the series 4-3, capturing the title
for the 3rd time.
"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're
the champs," said Pittsburgh manager . "It's a great
feeling."
The champs finished the regular season 93-65 and
claimed first place in the National Base Ball League
Western Division.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game,
series MVP and left fielder Freeman
McCullough said the Industrials have "great
fans and they deserve this."
"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
