Knickerbockers, Industrials Play 15 to Settle Game 1, New York Now Leads Series 1-0
The New York Knickerbockers took the first game of the World's Series in dramatic fashion today, topping the Pittsburgh Industrials 6-5 in an extra-inning walk-off win. Knickerbockers left fielder Emmet Carlin was selected player of the game, as he was 4-5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Late in the game, second baseman Fish Bassett had a big at-bat for New York. In the bottom of the 15th, he hit a run-scoring single off Antonio Butt. The play gave the Knickerbockers a 6-5 lead.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Bassett told the New York Citizen.

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Washington Square Park in New York. Slated to start are Calvin Ritchie for Pittsburgh and Phineas Flint for New York.
