Pittsburgh Breaks Through for First Win in World's Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Pittsburgh Industrials have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading New York Knickerbockers, winning 9-1 at Dormont Park today. Industrials right-hander Antonio Butt was named player of the game after he threw 9 innings of 7-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Industrials to 2-1 in the best-of-7 World's Series.

Butt pitched a complete game for Pittsburgh. The 23-year-old right-hander was charged with 1 run on 7 hits. He struck out 4 during his 132-pitch performance.

"We were a little off-kilter to start the series, but we're getting things figured out now," Pittsburgh manager told reporters. "At least I hope we are."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Pittsburgh. The scheduled starters for the game are Nick Putnam for the New York Knickerbockers and Grant Bagley for the the Pittsburgh Industrials.
