Industrials Even With
Knickerbockers After Extra-Innings Win
|
The Pittsburgh
Industrials got a strong game from starter Grant
Bagley, but it was some clutch hitting that
ultimately delivered the win.
The Industrials took the 5-4 win over the New
York Knickerbockers in Game 4 of the World's
Series in a 11th inning walk-off today. The win
capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Bagley,
who was named player of the game. Bagley threw 11
innings of 10-hit ball in the win, which brought the
Industrials into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th
inning, when Pittsburgh catcher Red
Buchanan, facing Joshua
Hewitt, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the
Industrials the 5-4 win.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Bagley.
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at Dormont Park in
Pittsburgh. The scheduled starters for the game are
Cookie Whaley
for the New York Knickerbockers and Calvin
Ritchie for the the Pittsburgh Industrials.
