Sullivan Handcuffs Knickerbockers, Traders Seize 1-0 Advantage in World Series
The Chicago Traders started the World's Series in style today, winning on the road against the New York Knickerbockers at Washington Square Park by a score of 6-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Traders left-hander Matthew Sullivan was named player of the game after he threw 9 innings allowing 2 runs.

Nepton, Kentucky-born Juan Teal came through in the clutch. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Traders trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double to right to put Chicago on top.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said Chicago manager .

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Jacob Norwood for the Chicago Traders and Jessee Nugent for the the New York Knickerbockers.
