Almost There: Brooklyn On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 5-0 Win
The Brooklyn Bluebirds got an exceptional performance from starter Ice Clare, who silenced the Cincinnati offense en route to a 5-0 shutout win in Game 4 of the World's Series today. The Packers could never get a bead on the left-handed Clare, who threw 9 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. The Bluebirds now hold a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Brooklyn right fielder Rupert Allen helped the Bluebirds go up, 2-0, in the bottom of the third inning. With the game tied, Allen hit a 2-run home run off Cincinnati pitcher Elijah Graves.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Allen. "And not try to do too much."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Avenue U Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Fish Bridge for the Cincinnati Packers and Nathaniel Flannigan for the the Brooklyn Bluebirds.
