Brooklyn Takes Series Lead
in Low-Scoring Affair |
Ice
Clare pitched a gem to help the Brooklyn
Bluebirds escape with a tight 2-1 victory over
the Chicago Traders
in a low-scoring World's Series contest today. The
left-handed Clare threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball in
the win, just enough for the Bluebirds on a day when
their offense dried up. Brooklyn now leads the
best-of-7 series 2-1.
Clare gave Brooklyn a solid start. The left-hander
allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 9 innings.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Clare said.
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Avenue U
Park. Slated to start are Jacob
Norwood for Chicago and Nathaniel
Flannigan for Brooklyn.
