Road Win Lifts Chicago to
3-2 Lead in World Series |
The Chicago
Traders have a critical edge over the Brooklyn
Bluebirds in the World's Series, thanks to the
veteran arm of Matthew
Sullivan.
Sullivan, 32, put on a dominant performance at
Avenue U Park today, leading the Traders to victory,
4-1, in a pivotal Game 5. Chicago is now one game
away from the World's Series, leading the best-of-7
series by a margin of 3-2. Brooklyn will need to win
both remaining games to advance.
Sullivan, who was born in Vincennes, Indiana, threw
143 pitches over 9 innings, while allowing 1 earned
run.
"Every team in baseball loses," Bluebirds manager
said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the
same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played Tuesday in
Chicago. Slated to start are Ice
Clare for the Brooklyn Bluebirds and Walker
Price for the the Chicago Traders.
