Brooklyn Win Evens Series
at 1 |
The Brooklyn
Bluebirds got a complete game effort from
starter Ice
Clare to move into a 1-1 tie with the Chicago
Traders in the best-of-7 World's Series.
The Brooklyn
left-hander went the distance at Calumet Park,
cooling off the Chicago
Traders and striking out 2 to help Brooklyn
take the 2-0 win that knotted the series.
Clare, a native of Laval, Canada, was dealing all
game. He kept Chicago hitters off-balance, while
giving the Bluebirds 9 quality innings. Clare threw
130 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 2.
"Feels good to get the job done," Clare said after
the game.
The next game is set to be played Friday, October
7th, 1910 in Brooklyn. Slated to start are Matthew
Sullivan for the Chicago Traders and Edgar
Blaney for the the Brooklyn Bluebirds.
