Cincinnati Win Evens
Series at 1 |
The Cincinnati
Packers topped the Philadelphia
Quakers by the score of 3-1 and moved into a
1-1 tie in the World's Series today. The largest
share of the credit went to player of the game and
Cincinnati starter Ezra
Park, who threw 9 innings of 2-hit ball in the
win.
Park was effective for Cincinnati, seldom allowing
the Quakers to square up a pitch. The right-hander
tossed 122 pitches over 9 innings. He limited
Philadelphia to just 1 run on 2 hits.
"Put this one in the bank," said Park afterward.
Game 3 is set to be played Friday. The scheduled
starters for the game are Antonio
Butt for Philadelphia and Rufus
How for Cincinnati.
