Almost There: Brooklyn On
Cusp of World Series Triumph After 4-3 Win
|
When the games really matter,
the Brooklyn
Bluebirds put on their best show, beating the
Chicago
Traders by a final score of 4-3 today. Lyman
Williamson earned player of the game honors,
as he was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while
adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Brooklyn now leads
Chicago 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Dooley
Sauer was the walk-off hero for Brooklyn. With
the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the
Bluebirds right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring
single to send the teams home.
"This joint was rocking," said Sauer.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow. The
scheduled starters for the game are George
Leavitt for the Chicago Traders and Clay
Baldwin for the the Brooklyn Bluebirds.
