Road Win Lifts St. Louis to 2-1 Lead in World Series
When the stakes were high, Edgar Bath raised his game to match.

The right-handed Bath turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the World Series today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the St. Louis Explorers to victory. He allowed 3 hits and struck out 2. The win gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead over the New York Knickerbockers in the best-of-7 series.

Bath gave St. Louis a solid start. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 9 innings.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said St. Louis skipper .

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Hampton Bunker for the St. Louis Explorers and Edgar Blaney for the the New York Knickerbockers.
