Knickerbockers Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The New York Knickerbockers got an exceptional performance from starter Edgar Blaney, who silenced the Cincinnati offense en route to a 5-0 shutout win in Game 2 of the World Series today. The Packers could never get a bead on the right-handed Blaney, who threw 9 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. The Knickerbockers now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Blaney gave New York a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 8 hits over 9 innings.

Blaney called the win "a collective effort."

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Washington Square Park in New York. Slated to start are Joel Solomon for Cincinnati and Grant Burger for New York.
