for First Win in World Series; Now Trails 2-1

Already down in the World
Series, the Cincinnati
Packers put on their best show, beating the New
York Knickerbockers by a final score of 2-0
today. Joel
Solomon earned player of the game honors, as
he threw 9 innings of shutout ball. Cincinnati now
trails New York 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Solomon, who was born in Georgia, Vermont, threw 104
pitches over 9 innings, while allowing no earned
runs.
"It feels good to get this one," Solomon told the
Cincinnati Herald.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at
Washington Square Park in New York. The scheduled
starters for the game are Russell
Quick for the Cincinnati Packers and Hamilton
Hoyle for the the New York Knickerbockers.
