Cincinnati Wins to Cut New
York Lead to 3-2 |
Already down in the World
Series, the Cincinnati
Packers put on their best show, beating the New
York Knickerbockers by a final score of 4-1
today. Roscoe
Brockman earned player of the game honors, as
he threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball. Cincinnati now
trails New York 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.
Brockman was effective for Cincinnati, seldom
allowing the Knickerbockers to square up a pitch.
The right-hander tossed 119 pitches over 9 innings.
He limited New York to just 1 run on 5 hits.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Brockman
said.
Game 6 is set to be played Tuesday, October 10th,
1916. Slated to start are Grant
Burger for New York and Joel
Solomon for Cincinnati.
