The Philadelphia Quakers got a great start from 37-year-old right-hander Millard Silver, who earned player of the game honors today as Philadelphia won the contest 4-2 at Castle Point Field. Silver threw 9 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Philadelphia to grab a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Silver, the Philadelphia right-hander, went 9 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits. He collected 4 strikeouts.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Silver said after the game.

The next game is set to be played Saturday, October 11th, 1919 at Penn's Landing Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Edgar Bath for the St. Louis Explorers and Millard Mayer for the the Philadelphia Quakers.
