for First Win in World Series; Now Trails 2-1

Already down in the World
Series, the Brooklyn
Bluebirds put on their best show, beating the
St. Louis Explorers
by a final score of 1-0 today. Brock
Rutherford earned player of the game honors,
as he threw 11 innings of shutout ball. Brooklyn now
trails St. Louis 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Rutherford allowed no earned runs on 5 hits over 11
innings for the Bluebirds. He walked 1 and struck
out 4.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said St.
Louis skipper , "and it cost us."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. The
scheduled starters for the game are Eli
Bostater for Brooklyn and Charley
Oaks for St. Louis.
