Packers Hammered by Humphrey, Drop Game 1 to Quakers
The Philadelphia Quakers started the World Series in style today, winning on the road against the Cincinnati Packers at Roman Arena by a score of 7-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Quakers first baseman Pete Humphrey was named player of the game after he was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.

Milo Bradley hit a run-scoring triple off Reuben Donohue in the top of the fourth, which put the Quakers in front, 2-1. Bradley had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Humphrey told the Philadelphia News.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Roman Arena. The scheduled starters for the game are Clay Easton for the Philadelphia Quakers and Joel Solomon for the the Cincinnati Packers.
