Russ, Bluebirds Wallop Explorers in Game 6 of World Series
The Brooklyn Bluebirds and the St. Louis Explorers will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Bluebirds beat the Explorers 6-1 at Castle Point Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Brooklyn first baseman Howard Russ was named player of the game in the win after he went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3.

Russ had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Bluebirds went on to win.

"Feels good to get the job done," Russ said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Castle Point Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Eli Bostater for the Brooklyn Bluebirds and Warley Krueger for the the St. Louis Explorers.
