The New York Knickerbockers topped the St. Louis Explorers by the score of 9-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the World Series today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and New York starter Naman Futch, who threw 9 innings allowing 2 runs in the win.

Bob Allgood helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring single to give New York a 1-0 lead.

"I thought we played a nice game," Allgood told the New York Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
