Explorers Clip
Knickerbockers 3-2 in World Series Contest
|
Leave it to the veteran.
The St. Louis
Explorers got a great start from 37-year-old
left-hander Warley
Krueger, who earned player of the game honors
today as St. Louis won the contest 3-2 at
Knickerbocker Stadium. Krueger threw 7 innings of
6-hit ball in the win, which knotted the best-of-7
series at 2-2.
Had George
Lowry not delivered a key base hit in the top
of the eighth, the outcome might have been
different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd
and 3rd, Lowry hit a 2-run single. That made the
score 3-2, in favor of the Explorers.
"Both teams played hard," said St. Louis manager .
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to
start are Brock
Rutherford for the St. Louis Explorers and Edgar
Blaney for the the New York Knickerbockers.
