Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Knickerbockers, 6-2
The New York Knickerbockers moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting St. Louis Explorers at Knickerbocker Stadium by a score of 6-2. Knickerbockers right-hander Edgar Blaney was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Knickerbockers a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 World Series.

The Knickerbockers picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Blaney told the New York Citizen.

The next game is set to be played Wednesday in St. Louis. Slated to start are Naman Futch for New York and Hampton Bunker for St. Louis.
