Raucous Castle Point Field Crowd Propels Explorers to 9-3 Victory; Series Tied at 3
The St. Louis Explorers and the New York Knickerbockers will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Explorers beat the Knickerbockers 9-3 at Castle Point Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. St. Louis second baseman Raglan Rooney was named player of the game in the win after he went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Rooney hit a bases-clearing double. It propelled the Explorers into the lead, 4-1.

Rooney said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

Game 7 is set to be played tomorrow at Castle Point Field in St. Louis. The scheduled starters for the game are Martin Butt for New York and Edgar Bath for St. Louis.
