St. Louis Wins 1925 World Series!
A celebratory mood filled the air as the St. Louis Explorers closed out the season with a 4-2 victory over the New York Knickerbockers at Castle Point Field to capture the World Series, 4-3.

Giving the Knickerbockers credit for a hard-fought series, Explorers players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned American Circuit champions.

"We felt like this was our year all season long," said shortstop George Lowry, who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did."

It was the 4th in franchise history. During the National Baseball League Western Division regular season St. Louis put up a 104-54 record and finished first.

"They're the champions and they deserve it," said a dejected New York manager . "We played good ball, they just played better than us."
