Knickerbockers Rally Past Explorers to Claim 2-1 Series Lead
When the games really matter, the New York Knickerbockers put on their best show, beating the St. Louis Explorers by a final score of 6-5 today. Ed Wall earned player of the game honors, as he went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. New York now leads St. Louis 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

The Knickerbockers were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when second baseman Doc Moore turned a 1-2 curveball from Boyle Slocum into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave New York a thrilling 6-5 win.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Moore said.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Edgar Bath for St. Louis and Martin Butt for New York.
