Robinson, Explorers Wallop Knickerbockers in Game 3 of World Series
Riding the 4-hit performance of second baseman Tommy Robinson, the St. Louis Explorers stopped the visiting New York Knickerbockers, 8-2, in Game 3 of the World Series today. Robinson was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once for the Explorers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

Robinson delivered in the bottom of the third inning for St. Louis. With the game tied and the bases loaded, the second baseman hit a grand slam home run to left-center.

"We did a lot of things right," said Robinson.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Castle Point Field. Slated to start are Martin Butt for the New York Knickerbockers and Harry McLoughlin for the the St. Louis Explorers.
