New York 1928 World Series Champions
The New York Knickerbockers pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the World Series in a hard-fought series with the St. Louis Explorers.

It was a seesaw affair, but with a 8-7 victory at Knickerbocker Stadium, New York lay claim to the franchise's 11th championship.

"There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Ed Wall. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today."

The champs finished the regular season 103-55 and claimed first place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.

A victory parade is set to be schedule in New York in the days to come.
