Beavers Hammered by Stanford, Drop Game 2 to Explorers
The St. Louis Explorers relied on the hitting of first baseman Mose Stanford to get by the Buffalo Beavers, 6-4, in Game 2 of the World Series today. For the game, Stanford went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.

St. Louis grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Lew Myers delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Explorers.

"Winning is contagious," said Myers. "We're looking forward to the next game."

Game 3 is set to be played Friday. The scheduled starters for the game are Hermann Logan for the St. Louis Explorers and Hardin Owens for the the Buffalo Beavers.
