Riding the 5-hit performance of left fielder Tom McMullin, the St. Louis Explorers got a road win against the Buffalo Beavers, 7-6, in Game 3 of the World Series today. McMullin was 5 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Explorers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the ninth, Connie Bartholomew hit a sacrifice fly. The Explorers took the lead, 7-6.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Explorers manager said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Beaver Park in Buffalo. The scheduled starters for the game are Edgar Bath for St. Louis and Hank Hurst for Buffalo.
