Buffalo Win Evens Series at 3
The Buffalo Beavers and the St. Louis Explorers will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Beavers beat the Explorers 5-2 at Castle Point Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Buffalo right-hander Dan Godin was named player of the game in the win after he threw 8 innings allowing 2 runs.

Had Rip Fast not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Fast hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Beavers.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Buffalo manager .

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Castle Point Field in St. Louis. Slated to start are Hardin Owens for Buffalo and Hermann Logan for St. Louis.
