Road Win Lifts Pittsburgh
to 2-1 Lead in World Series
|
Riding the 3-hit performance
of second baseman Mel
Hunt, the Pittsburgh
Industrials got a road win against the New
York Knickerbockers, 6-3, in Game 3 of the
World Series today. Hunt went 3 for 5 with 2
doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the
Industrials, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd
and one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's
when catcher Ed
Moore hit a single. The Industrials went on to
win.
Moore said the win provided a "big morale boost" for
the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse
right now."
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Knickerbocker
Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Eddie
DeBuhr for the Pittsburgh Industrials and Jack
