Culver Handcuffs Beavers, Traders Seize 3-0 Advantage in World Series
The Chicago Traders went into extra innings against the Buffalo Beavers but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2 today. The Traders downed the Beavers at Beaver Park by a score of 5-3. Chicago right-hander George Culver was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Traders a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 World Series.

Ron Fricker's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a slider from Hank Hurst for a 2-run single. It put Chicago in front, 5-3.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Fricker.

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Beaver Park in Buffalo. Slated to start are Moose Austin for the Chicago Traders and Hardin Owens for the the Buffalo Beavers.
