The Philadelphia Quakers got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Clay Easton, who earned player of the game honors today as Philadelphia won the contest 5-1 at Union Field. Easton threw 9 innings allowing 1 run in the win, which allowed the Philadelphia to grab a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Philadelphia second baseman Charlie Bohan contributed to the cause with a double in the top of the first. For the game, Bohan went 2 for 5 with a double.

"This team is real focused right now," said Philadelphia manager .

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th, 1933 at Penn's Landing Park. Slated to start are Moose Austin for the Chicago Traders and Socks Hensley for the the Philadelphia Quakers.
