Brummett Handcuffs
Beavers, Industrials Seize 2-1 Advantage in World
Series |
With starter George
Brummett leading the charge, the Pittsburgh
Industrials defeated the Buffalo
Beavers, 5-1, in Game 3 of the World Series
today. The right-hander threw 7 innings allowing 1
run at Beaver Park to help Pittsburgh take a 2-1
lead in the best-of-7 series.
Ed Lilly
hit a run-scoring double off Carl
Koerner in the top of the first, which put the
Industrials in front, 1-0. In addition to the
double, Lilly had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"It's true for every sport, I think, but the
playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in
and get hot," Pittsburgh manager told BNN after the
win. "We took care of the first part and now we're
just working on the second."
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow in Buffalo. The
scheduled starters for the game are Pete
Bailey for the Pittsburgh Industrials and Joe
Johnson for the the Buffalo Beavers.
