Scarlet, Knickerbockers Wallop Explorers in Game 2 of World Series
New York left fielder Hal Scarlet produced all the offense the Knickerbockers would need today in the club's 8-1 win over the St. Louis Explorers.

Scarlet hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 7 and was named player of the game, while New York moved into a tie in the World Series. The Knickerbockers and Explorers are now even at 1-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Scarlet delivered in the top of the third inning for New York. With the game tied and the bases loaded, the left fielder hit a bases-clearing double to right-center.

Scarlet attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

Game 3 is set to be played Friday in New York. The scheduled starters for the game are Earl Richards for St. Louis and Frederic Isaac for New York.
