Wall, Knickerbockers Wallop Explorers in Game 3 of World Series
Riding the 3-hit performance of shortstop Jason Wall, the New York Knickerbockers stopped the visiting St. Louis Explorers, 12-2, in Game 3 of the World Series today. Wall was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs for the Knickerbockers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

New York took the lead with one out in the bottom of the first when Hal Scarlet stroked a 2-run home run. That made the score 2-0 in favor of New York. For the day, Scarlet was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.

After the game, Wall refused to speak to a reporter for the New York News. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in New York. Slated to start are Hermann Logan for the St. Louis Explorers and Jack Smith for the the New York Knickerbockers.
