Industrials Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
The Pittsburgh Industrials moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Philadelphia Quakers at Allegheny Field by a score of 6-4. Industrials left fielder Larry Powers was named player of the game after he went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. The win gives the Industrials a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 World Series.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Homer Lucas didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Philadelphia trailing 6-4, Lucas retired Dick Whitney to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Lucas, with a wink.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Allegheny Field in Pittsburgh. The scheduled starters for the game are John Reynolds for Philadelphia and Terry Burns for Pittsburgh.
