Raucous Knickerbocker Stadium Crowd Propels Knickerbockers to 5-1 Victory; Series Tied at 1
New York right fielder Charlie Chase produced all the offense the Knickerbockers would need today in the club's 5-1 win over the Chicago Traders.

Chase was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and was named player of the game, while New York moved into a tie in the World Series. The Knickerbockers and Traders are now even at 1-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Chase had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Knickerbockers went on to win.

"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Chase, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."

The next game is scheduled for Friday at Union Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Wes Lee for New York and Charlie Cruickshank for Chicago.
