Explorers Clip Knickerbockers 2-1 in World Series Contest
The St. Louis Explorers defeated the New York Knickerbockers, 2-1 in Game 4 of the World Series today. Earning player of the game honors was starter Dave Holt, who threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win moves St. Louis into a 2-2 tie with New York in the series.

St. Louis grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Larry Hundley delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Explorers.

"We found a way to get it done," Holt said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Castle Point Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Bill Price for the New York Knickerbockers and Herb Thurston for the the St. Louis Explorers.
