St. Louis Win Evens Series at 3
The St. Louis Explorers and the New York Knickerbockers will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Explorers beat the Knickerbockers 5-3 at Knickerbocker Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. St. Louis right fielder Jim Adkinson was named player of the game in the win after he went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs.

St. Louis relied on the hitting of Frank Sutton to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put the Explorers on top, 3-1. For the game, Sutton had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said St. Louis manager .

Game 7 is set to be played tomorrow in New York. The scheduled starters for the game are John Sergent for St. Louis and Art Weir for New York.
