On Cusp of LCS Triumph After 7-5 Win

Riding the 2-hit performance
of catcher Gary
Harmon, the Philadelphia
Quakers got a road win against the Pittsburgh
Industrials, 7-5, in Game 4 of the League
Championship Series today. Harmon went 2 for 4 with
a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring
once for the Quakers, who now lead the best-of-7
series, 3 games to 1.
Dewey Evans
hit a 2-run triple off Charlie
Hall in the top of the ninth, which put the
Quakers in front, 7-5. Evans had 1 single, in
addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for
5.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said
Philadelphia manager Daniel Dugdale.
Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow at Allegheny
Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Paul
Beam for the Philadelphia Quakers and Chuck
Munson for the the Pittsburgh Industrials.
