League Championship Series
Game 1 Victory for MacDonald and Chicago
|
The Chicago
Traders started the League Championship Series
in style today, downing the visiting New
York Knickerbockers at Union Field by a score
of 6-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7
series. Traders right-hander Aart
MacDonald was named player of the game after
he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball.
Lou
Wilson aided the Chicago cause with a 3-run
home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game,
the right fielder went 1-4 with a home run. He drove
in 3 runs and scored once.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager,"
said Chicago manager Winston Tinker.
Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Union Field. The
scheduled starters for the game are Red
McKnight for New York and Joe
Tonner for Chicago.
