Toronto Grabs 2-1 Lead in LCS
When the stakes were high, Kent Albrecht raised his game to match.

The right-handed Albrecht turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Toronto Hurons to victory. He allowed 5 hits and struck out 2. The win gave Toronto a 2-1 lead over the San Francisco Seagulls in the best-of-7 series.

Tied up with the Seagulls in the top of the fourth inning, the Hurons got a boost from shortstop Don Hatton. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Hatton saw a 2-2 cutter from Ray Hayes and hit a 2-run triple to break the stalemate and put Toronto on top, 2-0.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Albrecht.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Mission Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Albert England for the Toronto Hurons and Doc Bertram for the the San Francisco Seagulls.
