Traders Win, Move to
Within 1 Game of World Series
|
The Chicago
Traders are one game away from a sweep of the
Pittsburgh
Industrials today after a 6-2 road win at
Allegheny Field. Traders right-hander Joe
Shannon was named player of the game after a
strong outing in which he threw 8 innings allowing 2
runs. Chicago now holds a 3-0 advantage in the
best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Chicago used the clutch hitting of Billy
Hall to capture the win. The catcher drilled a
2-run double in the top of the first inning to give
the Traders the lead, 2-0. For the game, Hall
had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hall
said after the game.
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Allegheny
Field. Slated to start are Ken
Amison for the Chicago Traders and Foster
Pavlovic for the the Pittsburgh Industrials.
