Terriers Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
The Boston Terriers moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the San Francisco Seagulls on the road at Mission Field by a score of 3-2. Terriers right-hander Ben McHargue was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 7-hit ball. The win gives the Terriers a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Boston used the bat of Rankin Meadows to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Terriers ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

McHargue attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Mission Field. Slated to start are Jerry Sneed for the Boston Terriers and Ray Hayes for the the San Francisco Seagulls.
