Schultz Handcuffs
Emeralds, Terriers Seize 2-0 Advantage in LCS
|
With starter Clint
Schultz leading the charge, the Boston
Terriers defeated the Seattle
Emeralds, 8-4, in Game 2 of the League
Championship Series today. The right-hander threw 9
innings allowing 4 runs at Atlantic Avenue Grounds
to help Boston take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7
series.
Had Rankin
Meadows not delivered a key base hit in the
bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been
different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st
and 2nd, Meadows hit a 2-run double. That made the
score 6-4, in favor of the Terriers.
"We have been clicking right from the start of this
series, so our mission statement at the moment is
just don't tinker with anything," Boston manager
Clark Anderson told reporters.
Game 3 is set to be played Friday at Puget Field.
Slated to start are Bob
Griffin for Boston and Hank
Tobey for Seattle.
