Industrials Get Past
Terriers 7-3 to Open WS |
The Pittsburgh
Industrials started the World Series in style
today, winning on the road against the Boston
Terriers at Atlantic Avenue Grounds by a score
of 7-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7
series. Industrials right-hander Sid
DeForest was named player of the game after he
threw 9 innings of 7-hit ball.
Pittsburgh used the bat of Harry
Osborn to get the win. The third baseman
hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first
inning to put the Industrials ahead, 2-0. It was his
lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
DeForest called the win the result of "everyone
being in sync."
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Atlantic
Avenue Grounds. The scheduled starters for the game
are Foster
Pavlovic for the Pittsburgh Industrials and Clint
Schultz for the the Boston Terriers.
